Operation KidCare

This outreach project is designed to encourage childhood immunizations and well-child medical checkups. As a result, the immunization rate in Arkansas for children under two years old has increased from 63 percent in 1995 to 77 percent in 1997.

Results

  • Media messages seen or heard by 1.8 million people every 90 days (verified by Nielsen and Arbitron ratings)
  • Television spots run in prime time slots
  • Radio spots run in prime time slots
  • Sponsors see or hear their names hundreds of times every 90 days
  • 25,000 Checkup Checkbooks distributed each year to parents who request it and qualify
  • The client's money was leveraged 2.6 to 1 using Funded Public Service™

Year Round

  • Each year, distribute 25,000 shot schedules and coupon incentives to parents
  • Provides continuous push for immunizations and well-child checkups through mass media
  • Brings First Lady of Arkansas to events across the state in support of immunizations
  • Brings private healthcare providers (hospitals, clinics, primary care practitioners) and the public health sector to the table to strategically develop solutions together for this single issue
