History
The First Tee of Central Arkansas was dedicated in the spring of 2001 and was presented as a gift to the city of Little Rock by the late Jack Stephens. The well-known entrepreneur-philanthropist and former chairman of the Augusta National Golf Club helped start The First Tee program nationally and this was his contribution to Arkansas.
Formerly Rock Creek Golf Course, the home of the First Tee of Central Arkansas is a redesigned walking course open to the public located just off South University. It features a nine-hole, par three course and a nine-hole championship course with three sets of tees. The 15-acre driving range has been ranked among the Top 100 driving ranges for public facilities since the course opened. The practice facility also features an extra large putting bentgrass green. The course was designed by Tom Clark, who also designed Diamante Country Club at Hot Springs Village and redesigned Little Rock’s Rebsamen golf course.
