Healthy Delta is a program of the Delta Regional Authority (DRA), a state/federal partnership that is charged with improving the economic viability of the Delta region. The DRA believes that to build a healthy economy, one must first start with a healthy workforce. Research indicated that diabetes is devastating the region's workforce and placing a tremendous strain on the local healthcare delivery systems. The Communications Group (TCG) conceived, designed and implemented Healthy Delta for the DRA. In cooperation with Wal-Mart, a sponsor secured by TCG, public health fairs complete with free biometric screening opportunities were scheduled in each of the eight DRA states. Results of all screening tests were given to the participants on the spot. Each participant was subsequently enrolled in the Healthy Delta program. |
