The Communications Group Expands Public Relations Staff
June 27, 2007; Little Rock, Ark. -– The Communications Group, , a Little Rock-based marketing, public relations and advertising firm, has expanded its staff to add an associate director of public relations. Shane Sharp will manage public relations programs, special events and media relations, as well as oversee the development of internal and external communications.
Sharp joins the Communications Group after spending eight years in the United States Air Force where he served as a public affairs specialist, journalist and media relations manager. His extensive experience includes authoring more than 250 articles and press releases, overseeing media relations activities for a base community of 30,000 people, implementing publicity for one of the nation’s largest air shows, and coordinating internal communications for a base of 1,100 Airmen, soldiers and Marines during Operation Enduring Freedom. During this time he worked at Hill Air Force Base in Utah, Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada and Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado.
Sharp has a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Utah. He also received an associate’s degree in public affairs from the Community College of the Air Force. Sharp is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and speaks fluent Spanish.
