Manufacturing Milestones: 30 Years of Industrial Manufacturing Marketing

Today we celebrate one of the most important and deserving days of the year – National Manufacturing Day. The event started in 2012 and is used to recognize the modern manufacturing industry, as well as inspire the next generation of manufacturers across the nation. Manufacturing contributes an incredible amount of strength and economic solvency to our great country - there are 12.3 million manufacturing workers in the US, accounting for 9 percent of the workforce, according to the National Association of Manufacturers. It’s also a day that has great meaning to everyone that has ever worked at The Communications Group.

We founded this company in 1987 and two manufacturers were among our first clients. Innovation Industries, Inc. of Russellville, Arkansas and what was then Aermotor Pumps in Conway, Arkansas launched our journey through the industrial world. Both manufactured unique products with niched customer bases. We learned a lot from those first industrial clients; mainly that manufacturers aren’t like any other client we serve. Manufacturers require a certain mindset, one that straddles the line of creativity and mechanics. Our iB2B Group has a deep understanding of the manufacturing industry and economic dynamics affecting the sector. Our industrial manufacturing specialists have spent the past 30 years honing that expertise.

We’re proud to say that this team still provides industrial manufacturing marketing to one of those first clients, Innovation Industries. Since that November day in 1987 when The Communications Group opened for business, we’ve worked with manufacturers around the country who make products for hundreds of industries.

On a factory floor or warehouse rack - that’s where your day truly started.

Each of those clients brought different perspectives, ideas, manufacturing techniques, customer bases, and complexity to our world of industrial manufacturing public relations and marketing.

Our team is more proud today than ever to be part of this strong manufacturing economy. We owe a great deal of our success to the work we have done alongside some of the greatest builders of goods and products. We are extremely pleased to continue our work in the manufacturing community, hoping that the small part we play in their success will continue to strengthen an industry that adds $1.81 to the economy for every $1 spent. According to the National Association of Manufacturers, that is the highest multiplier effect of any economic sector in the country. To all the manufacturers we serve, and the industrial workers who build and grow America’s economy, we are happy to celebrate this milestone with you.
