Our Customer Stories
Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board – Social Media Campaign
The Story: The Arkansas soybean industry is a $2 billion industry in the state and every soybean farmer pays into the commodity’s “checkoff” program. Those checkoff funds are administered by the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board (ASPB), which invests them in 1) research, 2) promotion and 3) education.
The Cast of Characters:
- Arkansas Soybean Farmers
- Arkansas Consumers
- Arkansas High School and College Students
Our Part in the Story: This social media campaign was developed by The Communications Group in an effort to reach the target audiences identified by the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board. The channels used in the campaign included Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. We developed a unified identity for each channel, while developing unique messages and objectives for each. The messages used on the channels supported the board’s overall objectives and supported the messages on the board’s website. It was our goal to develop an integrated digital footprint that resulted in quality results for Arkansans searching for soybean related content online.
The Story Continues: Analytics show that the 2015 social media campaign was successful in creating daily conversations with almost 3,000 followers across the four social media channels. Website visits increased by 26 percent during the campaign. Our team measured growth of 45 percent with unique visitors during the campaign and a 16 percent increase in pageviews in the same period. We grew the Facebook follower count by 32 percent and averaged 37 new monthly followers on Twitter during the year.
Better Beginnings – Social Media Campaign
The Story: Better Beginnings, a program of the Arkansas Department of Human Services, connects Arkansas families with information and care that helps their children experience a safe, happy, healthy childhood. Better Beginnings is designed to improve the level of quality in childcare and early childhood education programs across the state.
The Cast of Characters:
- Arkansas Child Care Providers
- Arkansas Families with Children
Our Part in the Story: This social media campaign targeted two audiences: parents of children from birth to 5 years old and child care providers in Arkansas. Our goal was to develop a conversation with families about the importance of high quality child care and to provide online resources for child care facilities and parents in Arkansas.
Our team developed an integrated approach for the social media campaign that consisted of organic and paid content across all platforms. This approach allowed us to leverage paid reach to engage with every target audience, in order to drive traffic to the Better Beginnings website. The channels used in the campaign included Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
The Conclusion: The overall reach for Better Beginnings’ social channels surpassed 1.5 million families and providers in Arkansas. Website traffic increased by 35 percent over the previous year in both unique users and sessions. Pageviews on the Better Beginnings website increased by 15 percent in the same period of time.
Arkansas Behind the Badge – Website
The Story: Our team developed the Arkansas Behind the Badge program as a public service campaign to show support for law enforcement officers in Pulaski County.
The Cast of Characters:
- Three Law Enforcement Agencies – Little Rock Police Department, North Little Rock Police Department and Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office
- Media Partners – KATV Channel 7, iHeart Radio and Lamar Advertising
- Simmons Bank
- Positive Impressions by John Festa
Our Part in the Story: Our team felt it was important to develop a campaign that showed support for the great work of our law enforcement community during a time when law enforcement across the country was under intense scrutiny. We used media relationships and our creative partners to build a multi-channel public service campaign at no cost to the law enforcement agencies.
Storytelling is the core of our brand, so we chose a creative approach that involved powerful and personal stories of the officers who protect our community – in their own voices, unscripted. We recruited and successfully built a coalition with three law enforcement agencies – Little Rock Police Department, North Little Rock Police Department and Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office – to produce the elements of the campaign. We used the officer testimonials to develop a media campaign that reached Pulaski County and beyond through television and radio spots. Our team worked with media partners in the market to earn 12 month commitments for placement of digital outdoor, radio and television spots in primetime. We launched Arkansas Behind the Badge with a press event held at the state capitol in Pulaski County.
Our team developed a campaign website, ARBehindTheBadge.com, which served as the virtual headquarters for the campaign. In addition to recognizing the feature agencies and Arkansas Behind the Badge partners, the site hosted campaign elements: television spots, radio spots and outdoor boards. The media center on the site included the press materials such as news releases, photography, B-roll video and other elements. A section of the website is devoted to Allies, which were city, county and state officials who endorsed Arkansas Behind the Badge.
Arkansas Behind the Badge campaign elements included:
- Public relations
- Special event management
- Media relations
- Television and radio spots
- Website development
- Bumper stickers
- Digital outdoor boards
The Story Continues: In the first six months, the Arkansas Behind the Badge website pulled more than 5,000 page views from over 1,600 unique visitors. The most popular pages are the agency pages and The 411, which is the backstory on the campaign. Each law enforcement agency promoted the campaign through their owned channels and reported that the content ranked among the most engaging they had posted in the agencies’ histories.
In 2017, Signal Media became an Arkansas Behind the Badge media sponsor. The radio spots can be heard on The Point 94.1, 103.7 The Buzz and 106.7 The Ride.
