Briefly describe your role:
A: I work with top homebuilders in the US to develop programs that positions Windsor Door to be their top choice for garage doors.
Q: Is what you’re doing now what you always pictured you would do?
A: I have always pictured myself as a businesswoman.
Q: What do you see as the greatest challenges for women in your chosen industry? What are the greatest opportunities?
A: I don’t see my gender as a barrier in any industry. I believe the greatest opportunities we have as women in business is to nurture talent. I believe our femineity is an asset when it comes to helping develop talent and helping others realize their potential.
Q: Who has inspired you in your life/career?
A: My mother and grandmother were my greatest influencers. My grandmother raised 5 children and managed a chain of cafeteria in St. Louis in the 1940’s and 50’s…she also spent the summers cooking in a lumber camp and brought the kids along. My mother raised 9 children and was a force of nature. There was nothing she felt she couldn’t accomplish.
Q: What advice would you give to an aspiring professional?
A: Be your authentic self…unless you’re an [unfortunate, rude person], then try to be somebody else.
